The efp tripods from SLIK-DAIWA costs half asmuch as sachtler/vinten etc. But they are mostly used in japan, so I havenīt been able to find any reviews. Is there anybody outthere who has been using either the ep56 or daiwa 15 tripod systems? I will be using still lenses so 33lbs should be just fine.

all the best

Hi Eddie,

Seem to me that the systems are built for Video work 26-48lbs is not much. It all depends on what your planning to do with your RED. If you're going to use it as EFP/ENG work then it's most probably fine. If your planning at some point having cine lenses and ARRI gear with it, then I wouldn't recommend it.

Cheers,

fred

I am planning on shooting efp with the canon mount. Thank you for your help... I was getting kind of nervous with all the miller/sachtler threads.

If anyone else is interested they are offered very cheap at globalmediapro

They work alright when new but don't seem to last.
Alot of their larger heads don't even have fluid drag controls...I was surprised.
Try it before you buy it and look for weaknesses in the plastics.

Eddie,

I looked at it and I would say it looks very weak. I also want to say that I got a 150mm bowl sachtler with case on Ebay for less than Ģ995. So maybe it's worth looking elsewhere.
