Realize this has been batted around a bit but looking for some 'final' clarification from the guys who have been using the cameras:
Let's say we are using a Mac for initial Best Light work in Alert or Cine. Let's also say this is not an FCP system, something like an iMac or MBP out on location (hotel room, camera truck, etc.). It does not have FCP studio or a proper video (SDI) card. We need to make 'good' QT's for review and to start the off-line process. We can't have 'why do the QT's look so dark?'
So, shall we be using 1.8 or 2.2 gamma in the monitor calibration to best view in Alert or Cine? And, I know it has been discussed before, but what is best practice to have rendered QT files (h.264, ProRes, ect.) match what we are seeing in Alert or Cine?
Thanks for clarification! Sorry if this appears elsewhere and apperciate a link if so.
