My order of these arrived today, and its nice to finally be adapter-less. Compared to the QRC-Red, theres an additional P-tap plug on it, one on the side and one on the top. However, note that on both of my units the plug assembly was incorrectly placed. Positive and negative were on the correct side for the inside harness, but the inside harness was backward to the outside harness. So had I been able to plug it in, things would have blown. Both of my units came the same way on the same port (top side).
Other than that, the cable length is about the same as the QRC-Red + 2b to 1b adapter, so you arent saving any cable length. I suppose as more modules are added, that might be a good thing, but for now, it means looping cable.

I ordered through B&H, but they were sent direct from AB, as far as I can tell. It was a 5 minute fix on both units, but could have been worse had I not been burned before and looked closely.
** edit: to clarify, I was burned before by an AC forcing the plug in, shorting out every accessory attached. Now Im cautious.

Yikes. Mine is en route. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to give it thorough exam before putting it into operation.
I had someone reverse polarity when plugging my TVlogic on-board into a P-tap recently. it went up in a puff o' smoke (the cable that is, luckily the monitor was fine). The stock cable has an incredibly poorly molded connector and easily fits either way.
BTW I just spoke with David Hable of Cramped Attic Technology who moded two of my other battery plates to Epic compatibility. He just got in a hundred of the hard to get Epic Lemo connectors. So if any one is looking to modify one of their old RED battery plates or cables I highly recommend him.

I just got a phone call from Anton Bauer's service department. Apparently there was a change somehow between the time Red sent them specs and when A/B designed the product, and when Red locked in the spec. They requested that i send both my QR-EPIC plates back to be replaced.
I'm impressed that A/B is being proactive and calling, but thought that I would add my post to this thread so more people see it.
I would advise everyone who ordered this product to contact their reseller, or A/B directly, and check in. Better safe than sorry.
Cheers,
Harry

Yea my plate was supposed to arrive today from Abel but they just informed me that they're being recalled to fix a wiring issue. Abel said I should have mine within a few days with the new fix. All good.

Ive been in contact with AB. They said there wasnt a spec change, but were just making sure that others were affected with this issue. To be clear, it was on the Power tap, not the lemo that I saw the issue. Changing it around was just a matter of rotating the plastic connector, total of 5 minutes to fix. Ive used these plates on my Epic now for the last few days, no issues, works as expected. I like that AB is being proactive.

Alright guys, really stupid question... does this plate mount directly to the back of the EPIC or are you putting it on rods?

Im using the ET plate to then attach it to the DSMC top mount, which has 19mm rods. It doesnt come with any backing that you can put on rods directly, so you'd need a plate for it.
