I've been trying to export a 2k dpx sequence through REDCINE with the intent to use AJA's DPX to QT translation software, and REDCINE will not allow me to export the 2k DPX sequence. I get an error message that says it "cannot write frame x" I know that I can export the DPX sequence through RED Alert, but does anybody know why it will not work in REDCINE?

does it write some frames and stop, or halt with the error before it has written any frames? If the latter, is the output file path set to a writable volume that is online and has enough free space?

It writes nothing, just shows an error msg that it could not write the first frame and stops...

edit - the drive has more than 2TB available, I don't think it's a drive space issue...

It's a puzzle, I was able to export 2k DPX files just fine. Does Redcine work otherwise normally? Can you for example export a "Snap Shot" TIFF frame (button at right of popup menu bar at top of screen)?

Make sure you leave the export file name alone...

Hi,

Yes, I got this too. It is most likely because the syntax you are using in the output filename is incorrect. Try resetting it to a default. A full list of syntax is on the red website under support>redcine. Restarting REDCine also made the problem go away for me.

Even when I leave the file name to the default, I still encounter the problem.

...also I had it when I used a back slash instead of forward slash (or was it the other way around) in the output syntax.
