I am using this thread as a way to filter out people whose comments I can just ignore from now on, because if this does not excite you, your opinion is not worth listening to :)

Oh wow!!! Damn, that looks fun! After Xmen 3, Fantastic Four 2, Superman Returns and Spiderman 3 I thought the era of good comic-based movies was over!

Great trailer! Almost shows too much, though.

At least they made a decent villain this time. I loved the last Batman, except the final 1/3 of the movie when they decided that they needed the classic bad guy vs good guy/good guy saves the day stuff and the movie took a turn for the worse. This one looks way better. Lot's of exploding things... fun.

I thought it looked interesting. My only concern was...I liked Batman Begins because, in the context of a supehero movie, it was "believable." I'm afraid that while they may not jump the shark with this, they may try to politely step over it.

I guess you'll have to ignore me from now on. It looked like a guy who claps and things explode for 3 minutes. I didn't see anything that made me sit up in my seat and want to find out what's going to happen in the film or why it happened.
I love the direction and look of the film... but I really don't like the Joker. I haven't liked him in the cartoons, older movies and he still is just kind of cackling and annoying now too.

Okay, I've seen the trailer, and my feeling is: making The Dark Knight was the reason to make Batman Begins.
Don't get me wrong, Batman Begins is one of my favorite action movies. But judging from the trailer, The Dark Knight is what a Batman movie is REALLY all about.

Count me worth listening to. I've been excited about Ledger playing the joker ever since I heard the casting news, especially since Nolan has been raving about his amazing work on set. I love Batman and put great trust in Chris Nolan's work which just keeps getting better and better. This movie is gonna rock.

It'll be interesting to see if they've come up with a unique script. The trailer gives little to the storyline away other than there's Batman, the Joker and lots of things exploding - Though it looks good and well done. I always liked Nicholson as the Joker. He had a great screen presence and I was hesitant when I heard they were bringing in Ledger to play him, but he looks pretty good from what I've seen. Looks like they're continuing on the grittier more realistic feel for this one that they went with in Batman Begins. Whether it loses a bit of it's comic book charm is another matter but the past batmans (before begins) where utter garbage other than Burtons '89 flick so it's not a bad thing. One to watch in 2008 for sure.

Funny, I liked the joker here a lot more than Jack Nickolson. He seems to be a real villain here without any excentric touch. And I want that bike! :-)

Well, I can't wait to see the movie, but I confess I haven't watched the trailer. Trailers give away too much of the movie. I hate that. People think I'm weird, because in movie theaters I cover my ears and close my eyes when the trailers start, because I don't want to know what happens.
[SPOILER ALERT]
I started behaving like this after the trailer for the first Mission: Impossible, where they showed the whole ending with the exploding helicopter in the train tunnel and Tom Cruise barely escaping getting his head chopped off by the helicopter blades. I mean, that's THE END OF THE MOVIE!!!! I was so mad at them, even though I loved it when I finally saw the whole thing.
[/SPOILERS]
In my opinion, a movie trailer shouldn't show you ANYTHING past the first half of the movie. Seriously. If the first half of the movie doesn't have enough interesting visuals and plot elements to fill a trailer, then they need to work more on the script.
Sorry about the rant. I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight, as Batman Begins was awesome!

Only thing I'm a bit unsure of is that bike... especially that "turn" in the trailer

Is it summer yet? The trailer is awesome. I saw it before I Am Legend and got chills.

Christian Bale delivers....fact. Batmen Begins is a comic-book-to-big-screen at its best. They did not cut many corners on the last Bat production so I hope I am not setting myself up for disappointment but I have a good feeling the second installment will hold up! THanks for posting.
Ps...glad to see they canned katie Holmes.

It was but it was also destroyed at the moment Kathy Holmes hit the screen.

i didn't like batman begins. Some GREAT ideas, but too many horrible ones to salvage it. Just my opinion of course ;)
I was always interested in seeing the sequel, though. and this does look neat. I dig this Joker and that batcycle looks like it SHOULD be stupid, but is just too cool :) Hopefully Nolan will win me back to the franchise

Muroshi, I think you mean Katie Holmes, not Kathy, and she's been replaced with Maggie Gyllenhaal in this one.
I liked Batman Begins (except for the "your girlfriend has drugs in her system that cause life-threatening hallucinations, so the best way to rescue her is to scream 'don't panic!!!' from behind your bat mask while driving your car on every roof in the damn city" setpiece, plus the villain's whole goofy plan), but sequels are a mixed bag. Will this be a Godfather 2 or a Highlander 2?
I just hope Dark Knight will be good enough to justify the bajillion viral websites they've cooked up for its marketing.
