I know that the Red team is working on an improved version of the camera to handle -20 degree but I wanted to let people know that we're doing a shoot in cold weather in Lyon France right now and that the camera was able to perform really nice for an entire night at -5 degree celcius.

Of course we used a lot of warming pads and covers; as Jim mentioned you need to baby sit your camera at all times, but quite often it had almost no protection and it behaved really nicely with no failure whatsoever.

I attached a few picks; this short film is one of the first major projects that our camera and LocaRed is doing in France with an entire week of filming just with the Red.

Oh, I was just there, but back in London now. Looks like a good production. My crew and our Red will be spending some time in Paris, so if you're ever looking for a B-cam, we'll do our best to help you out.

Arno,
beautiful website!
An english version would help you pickup work form UK USA or OZ.

No problems with condensation after the shoot right? The warming pads should have kept it warm enough.

We shot 9 hours in -6 C today. No warm pads, just a little cover and the fan set to variable. But we kept the camera on the whole day. Thanks to this community we were prepared.
