16 k for a basic package, ready to go except the lens. I was hoping for ridiculously cheap, just to keep the Scarlet price as low as possible, lol.

hey RED, please ignore the CANNON announcement... you might be inclined to RAISE Scarlet prices given the price performance of the C300 announcement!

I don't see Red jacking up Scarlet's price because of this announcement. There are a LOT of people who want a large sensor and interchangeable lenses more than higher res.

I actually like the Canon camera, though the price is too high. They will sell though...at least until Red releases Epic-S. If I were willing to wait until Jan for the Canon, I'd be willing to wait a few more months (or so) for Epic-S, which should blow it out of the water at roughly the same price.
