Hey guys,

Thought someone on here might know the best (cheapest) place in Sydney to transfer a digital file onto digibeta? Its only a 5 min music video but so far I've been quoted $220 from Diskbank inc tape and $110 from Fats inc tape. Fats seems OK but I seem to remember in the past this is something that should only cost around $50-60ish..or is that going back a ways?

Cheers

Paul

Fats charges 15 min increments; $60 probably would have covered you if you were on a contract with smaller minimums.

Is this for RAGE?

Hi Cail,

Thanks - yes its for RAGE. So your saying it should be only $60? Kinda shits me that in the year 2012 when everything is digital the only way to get something to RAGE (with no guarantee it will even be played) is digibeta. I mean its not even so much the cost but the f@king hassle. I've either got to go in or arrange for couriers etc - Im just used to TVC's where you pay $40 and digitally send to whatever network you need. Even FreeTV let you digitally send in TVC's for review these days and dont charge you a cent. Tape is such an archaic incompitent way of doing anything...grrrr

RAGE is one of the last bastions of this, it has to do with their workflow and the way the shows are built, I believe. They get so many submissions it makes sense to standardise and force the submitters to get the piece into the correct format.
