Hey All-

Currently- does the 720p HDSDI preview output the same frame rate as the Project Settings tab?

How bout when playing back/recording slow motion?

Thanks

By definition, 720p can only run at 50.00 or 59.94 Hz.

So the scheme used maps the instantaneous fps of the sensor capture onto one of those two frame output rates via pulldown. On playback, the same technique is used except that the image frame rate is fixed at the project frame rate i.e the pulldown required is added to that fixed rate.

Thanks Stuart- I knew this but wasn't thinking clearly.

Does the camera flag frames on output when recording slow motion?

thanks

Hi Stuart,

may I ask which definition ?
I remember a 720p25 from something.
Not that it would make a difference, when you put 25 in 50 and just double each frame, just curious.

Question for Stuart: I have an eCinema DCM23 monitor (thanks Martin) that, unlike the vast majority of monitors, is capable of showing the actual frame rate. One nice thing about this feature on set, is that if the operator's pan rate is causing objectionable judder, then the director/DP/etc over at the monitor can actually see it and ask for another take right away.

Sooo, any chance that we will be able to choose "native frame rate output" in the monitor menu someday... (I understand that the default should remain as it is currently to service the vast majority of field monitors.)
