Hi Folks,

I have a very lightly used O'Connor 2575B (150MM bowl) with sticks for trade or sale. We have decided that it is just too much tripod for our likely Red configurations, since we travel and will likely be using primes and smaller zooms. This is a great tripod for people who might be considering using some of the big zooms or big telephotos. Includes two pan arms, plate, case for head and sticks, etc. I think retail for the current 2575 with all these accessories would be over $12K even at a discounter like B&H.

While we are happy to talk about selling it, I'm actually more interested in working out a trade for another tripod, or possibly lenses to fill out the holes in our kit.

For a tripod I would love to find an O'Connor 2060, but might also consider a Sachtler 20 or similar. For lenses I am basically interested in PL mount lenses, but I might consider a fast set of Lomo/Ekran primes in Konvas Oct-19 mount that I could have converted. Depending on what you have it might be a trade plus cash deal.

PM me your offers...

Thanks to all who responded to this message. It looks like we have found a couple of good leads for a trade with a 2060, so I'm considering the tripod spoken for.

OneCam,

In what ways was the 2575 too much tripod? I found a 2575 head for under $4000. It seems like a steal.

Any thoughts as to why I might NOT want to purchase it?

$4000 is a bargain, If you dont want it I would like to buy it.

FYI- the 2060 is a better match, a typical RED configuration is 25-35 lbs and with a large zoom and wireless ff, etc. it can weigh up to 65-70 lbs.
This is an ideal weight for the 2060, but the 2575 would also work well and give you the ability to work with bigger rigs.

Digitalfx has it right. There is nothing wrong with the 2575 (head alone is about 23lbs) and I expect it would give us great results. It is a beautiful piece of gear, and can handle heavier loads than the 2060. But our work is usually with small crews (often just 2 people for interviews, etc.), we change camera positions a lot, travel for shoots a lot and I don't expect to be putting big Optimo zooms or the like on our camera. So the 2060 (head alone is 16lbs) should work just as well for our needs, and is a better match for our work since it is smaller/lighter, etc. I think a lot of people going with smaller primes and simple rigs would even do fine with the 1030 heads.

$4K is a great deal.

digitalfx,

The $4,000 2575b was sold on Friday (not the one that OneCam is selling on this thread, but the other one I was referring to). I was going to purchase it today (Monday) but it was already gone.
