Moving to 5th Floor Walkup, Bonded Camera Storage Brooklyn, NY?

I am looking forward to moving, I am not looking forward to lugging my gear up and down 5 flights of stairs (I live in a basement level apartment now). I know this has to be a problem with others here in NYC, has anyone found a reasonable alternative? Most storage facilites I've come across in my area (north brooklyn) are a little sketchy or dont feel safe enough for my package, let alone a cardboard box full of cassete tapes. 24 hour access would be great for those early calls, but safety is more important.

any suggestions are appreciated.

I had a similar problem, although it wasn't in NYC. Instead of opting for a storage facility I just ended up getting arthritis in my knees. Looking back, I probably could have come up with a better solution that the one I'm now stuck with.

yikes. sorry to hear about your knees. i will learn from your knowledge, no carry heavy sh!t up lots of stairs. i figured porters do it at machu picchu in sandals outside....
