$65,000 eh? Blimey, I guess they would argue that RedOne doesn't officially exist yet and they doubt it ever will... that's the only way I think they could justify it.

heh - yeah, I just don't see them realising that's actually a huge shift taking place in the market.
They seem to be dancing by the numbers - loftily ignoring the obvious and following some master plan and pricing structure - which is simply looking more and more ridiculous with each new camera release.
And this from the other day as well

Funny, last year Sony was promising a 2/3" version of the XDCAM HD by NAB 2007. Doesn't look like they will make it.

Do you really think that highly paid execs with Sony (or any company for that matter) understand what really goes on in 99% of the day to day bust your ass to pay the rent with the shiity video equipment I have realities.....
The time is coming....

Why would they want to drop the price before they absolutely had to? They're just making hay while the sun shines.:rip_1:

I'm very suprised that other companies (All of them far larger and far more experienced) are dragging their feet to produce a competitive (If only technically) piece of equipment. Many of them deserve to fall at the wayside for being so mediocre.

The HDVF-C35W viewfinder is also expected to be available in June at a suggested list price of $8,000.
I could buy a 50 inch plasma as a monitor for the price of their 3.5 inch LCD.

I don't know where you shop, but for $8K you can buy a 1080p 50" plasma and have enough left over for a Blu-Ray player, tax, lunch and a tank of gas.
