i received my camera today. it has build 12. i can get to the sub menu where you select what resolution but i cant change it, i also enabled channel one and selected "microphone" and a level meter appears in the LCD but no audio... it almost seems like a bug, whenever i get to some deep submenu where you can select something in the right side (like resolution for example) it wont let me change the setting. i hope im just doing something really wrong or its something obvious i am missing but red offices are closed and i really want to shoot 2k, and also use sound! can someone please help, or pm me? thanks..

okay i figured it out. i didnt realize you had to SPIN THE JOYSTICK like a knob. i thought you could just point it in various directions and press it like a button..
i just looked through the manual too, and there is no mention of SPINNING... wish i could delete this thread, but i also think i cant be the only person who has done this??

Probably good to leave it here, many others may not expect to have to turn the joystick. I just read the manual and saw that some commands are described as turning the joystick, I forget which- maybe they didn't mention it on those two.

I ran in to the same thing. Early on the manual says nothing of rotating the joystick and for a short while I couldn't figure out how to change an item once there.

This sounds weird. You actually need to turn the joystick to toggle the menus? I imagine this is quite cumbersome, or am I wrong?

No its very simple.
You push the joystick up/down/l/r to move aound menus and twist the knob to change settings.

I see. Seems ok then.
Thanks for clearing this up.
