I like the look of their products but haven't had any luck in getting a price list out of them.
Their compendium might be good when working with small cine lenses and little still camera zooms.
Have you looked at the JBK Cinequip site? Their stuff is well made and in the medium price range.

Chuck,
I think the Cavision dual model runs like $800 at B&H. I tried today to get them to open a boxed one but no dice.
I have tried the JBK but I don't really like it. I am looking for the poor man's Chrosziel 203.

Hi lordnumberzero,
Yeah you would want to to check for rotational backlash. And their gears look a little chessey upon closer inspection. IMHO, any screw with a phillips head is only good for screwing sheet rock to a wall!

Have you used the RedRock Chuck? Or anyone? especially since they've supposedly improved the design to make the gearing better.

Paul,
Nope
But with different used units (Arri, Chorezio, etc.) coming up on Ebay all the time why take a chance?
Or you could do like the guys at DVXuser are doing and make one out of a fishing reel. LOL
Actually with a decent reel that might not be that bad of an idea!
With an anti backlash gear in the train somewhere it might tighten it up enough to make it repeatable.

Hi,
Speaking of a Chrosziel, did you see this?
Good luck on selling your flyer.

I've used the RedRock FF... I would definitely explore other options if I were you. I was not impressed or in the least bit pleased with it anf I felt that I paid too much for what I actually got. The Cavision is nicer - I've seen one of those too and not much more expensive. It's still a fairly cheap unit in comparison with the Chrosziel... I've never seen an Arri FF personally. I currently don't own a FF, but will be adding one to my RED setup. I'm just going to get a Chrosziel or Arri or something of that level. Of course, my budget may not allow it when the time comes, but I'm watching ebay and some other possibilites... I haven't stumbled across any great deals yet, but I still have some time I think.

what is a better quality brand, Chrosziel or Arri?

Arri. With that in mind, a new Chrosziel will probably be better than a beat-up old Arri.

Does this include all products produced by each company? I am specifically interested in an Arri follow focus (FF-3) and maybe an Arri Mattebox as well.

Are the wheels removable? How is the backlash and the quality of the gear?
