We have approximately 200 high speed (300x) 8gb Lexar cards (used on Steven Soderbergh's "The Argentine" and "Guerrilla") available for bulk purchase. Would consider selling smaller quantities.

Please email me at dkirchner*mac.com if you're interested.

What's your smallest quantity? I could probably move between 10 and 40 of them...

If a group of us chip in to buy quantity, it may be worthwhile.

I've been cleared by production to start selling them. We'd prefer to move in quantities of 20 or more at $150 each.

We're thinking of a Paypal (or Paypal type) payment system. Any suggestions?

Okay you guys with Euros - now is the time to strike!! By the time import tax is put onto $150 they're little cheaper than buying brand new 8GB Lexar 300x UDMA Pro cards unfortunately.

Are these still for sale? Has anyone else had any luck contacting this person? I have made three separate attempts and so far no response.

Hey Dkirchner! I'd seriously like to buy some cards. Get back to me, please.

Thanks.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why would Sodebergh want to sell 200 cards that he knows work and are reliable. Why not keep them for your next feature? They're not like tape, they don't wear out, and I don't think storage space would be an issue.

200 cards is quite a few... now that the Red drive is shipping, I'd think you could make do with fewer, that's what I'd guess.

Seller has only two posts to his history and is missing in action since he/she posted the solicitation. Hmm.

Seller is legitimate.

Well they DO wear out actually, flash based media has a limited lifespan like a hard drive. No offence to the production and im sure the cards will be a great buy but I personally dont buy second hand flash media

Quite sure these cards are 8GB and 24 32 and more are knocking on the door

We're trying to work this out with production accounting. My hope is to put these up for "buy it now" on Ebay at $125 a piece (in lots of 10 for a total of 150) on Monday, Feb 4th.

BTW, in response to an earlier post: Soderbergh is looking to move to 16GB cards for his next shoot, which is months away. No need to sit on a ton of 8GB cards in the meantime.

The auction is now active:

Ebay has temporarily pulled the auction due to the fact that the paypal account I'm directing the payments to (cheaccounting@yahoo.com) is not officially linked to my Ebay account.

I am resolving this matter and will let you know when the auction has been reinstated.

My apologies.

It wasn't clear to me, can you buy 1 unit for $125 or do you have to buy at least 10 at $1250 minimum. If you could put them at 1 or 2 or 3 cf cards per sale it would be easier to get an appropriate amount - many of us don't need 10 or multiples of 10.

The reason for the min. quantity of 10 is due to the fact that we don't have the personnel to fill more than 15 orders. Unfortunately we're just a small, yet very busy editing room– not a shipping department. (It's also to limit the volume of inquiries, etc.)

Perhaps you could get together with a few other RED users who are looking for smaller quantities?

BTW, still waiting for Ebay to put this back up on-line. They didn't like the $20,000 buy-it-now auction (15 x $1250) with a new paypal account (which was set up by our production accounting).

My suggestion would be put up lots of 5 for $625 and maybe 5 of those in the first auction (25 total). Then when those are sold put up five or ten more sets until they are gone. If you set the auction for paypal only, fulfillment is literally a button click in the paypal screen to print out a mailing/shipping label. Find a solid flat container and throw them in a flat rate priority mail envelope for $4.00 US or less than $10 to anywhere in the world. A solid box would be maybe a dollar more to ship.

Anyone want to go in on a purchase of 10? 5 for each of us or $625/ea + s&h.
