Zak, since no one else has responded - try exporting as non quicktime into folders... then try to export as quicktime into a folder as well. Also try to do shorter section if you are doing a very very long one.

I am beginning to find this very troubleing. Many people have been complaining about this for a while. Where is the help? Where is the technical support? I have posted the log file as requested last night, I'll wait and see what kind / quality of help I get today.
I know this is obvious, but I can't take delivery of a camera if I can't do anything with the footage.
The system is BRAND spanking new, with nothing on it but REDCine and premiere programs.
I sure hope help comes quickly today, or this whole RED thing may be a dream.

not all codecs work correctly and sometimes the quicktime export is not even enabled (dimmed) - are there some things we have to know?
thanks

It looks like I am able to export a file sequence... So it's not 100% broken.. But I need quicktime for Cineform to work

Please try to move Redcine folder(Macintosh HD/library) to another place,
start Redcine, open your project.
I use MacBookPro and 10.4.11.
Redcine works fine.

Updated QT, Redcine freezes just hitting a command....
Installed, uninstalled, first one then the other then viceversa.
Frustrating.

what happened to that post over in the building 4k system? where jay posted his log file?
it showed that one of the registry keys from redcine is incorrect.
here is the log file
: Module 1: QuickTime-Export - '4ca47bbf-2ca4-49ad-98b5-99936b2fed4c'
: Module 2: ~REDCODE RAW - '6ebf0150-a939-46d0-8132-73291d76b3bd'

03:58:28.51 INFO : Media Library initializing:
: Media registry does not exist.. (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\REDCINE\Media\\MediaLibrary.reg) <<<<<< this the problem
MediaLibrary.reg
i suggest maybe the installer has put the file somewhere else on your hard drive?
if the file does exist, maybe it is corrupted. try downloading a different version of redcine or email them as ask for this file MediaLibrary.reg or the correct key settings.
this is a good indicator of why there is no codec being loaded.

Hi Gale, it seems i'm having the same log as Jay but different issue... i cant find jay's log anymore...
After manually removing Redcine leftovers now it works again but no more Qt sequences. I had the 1st frame issue but i dont know how it solved. Now i have "failed to write frame zero".
Uploading a log for a succesfull Tiff seq and a log for a unsuccessful QT seq
Sorry Jay, i'm i stealing your thunder?

galexander, can you move your folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\REDCINE) to another place?
My Mac version, redcine makes MediaLibrary.reg when it doesn't exist with redcine folder.
Sorry, I can't speak English.
I was troubled with freeze 1st flame issue, but now it has been solved.
How about PC version?

in the failed QT attempt, the compressor fails with error 8961. when i've seen this with DiVx it usually means that the codec can't deal the pixels you have specified, i.e., the compressor/decompressor bombs trying to convert the image to your pixelmap. it is definitely a bug, try a different aspect ratio for the pixels. are you using square? 4:3?
Here's is apple's "official" replies.

call me Chaos :) i don't have it installed yet, i was grepping through Jay's logfile but think may have a good indication of why it is bombing on QT.

Chaos and Paolo,
paolo you are not stealing my thunder. In fact I now have the same error as you. Chaos, the Reg error you found is a typo on the address, that's why it cannot find it. Look carefully as the file address and you will see two // in the directory, that's why it cannot find the file. It is there.

Try a H.264 render.. You will be pretty happy with those results.

DVCPro is probably chopping the frame down and restretching to meet your output setting.
