Is it any drivers for redstation Redmag 1.8? Should it just mount as a drive? nothing happens when started even thoe the red light is on both redstation and redmag 1.8.
Update, for some reason it started to show upp.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I remember seeing the solution somewhere but impossible to find it anymore...

Not sure why I did have this problem cause all the sudden it just start working after trying to get it to read for at while. Im running mac and maby i had the usb connected aswell. Now I just have the firewire 800 (plus dc).
You already know this but when you install RCX PRO you should get "RED watch dog" installed aswell. Can you search you computer and se if you find that?

RED Watchdog is only available on MAC, and yes i remember seeing this solution around so it won't be helpul here.
From reading this forum, this only way PC people got it to work was "chance" :-S

The drive is actually viewed as an "OEM Mass storage" by windows 7 if i want to unmount it.
edit - chance happened !
I plugged usb cable + usb power cable instead of the a/c power cable, turned on the redstation first then inserted the redmag, and here it is.
Copying files at 42MB/s. Is this usb3 ?

No. USB 2.0 goes up to 480 Mb/s (roughly 60 MB/s). USB 3.0 would go up to 5 Gb/s (625 MB/s). So I'm pretty sure you're in USB 2.0.
