I wonder if it is possible to create a "look" in REDCINE save it as .rcc file and then load it into the RED camera so it display the images with this "look" and burn in the metadata when recoring?
thanks,
antoine

That isn't in the firmware yet Antoine, but yes that is the plan - to save / recall .rcc ("look") files to / from the camera and post production software.

That would be VERY handy for smaller shoots where manpower is limited and on-set grading time is limited.
Looking forward to it guys! ;)
Cheers,
Harry
Is that mean that a DP can take a shot of a location/set in real time, work on its "look" in Redcine and "inject" it to the camera before start shooting? Than while shooting has a reference of the "look" he has just created on his monitor and after the shoot is done transfer the same "look" to post production?
Can this be done in other cameras like the PhantomHD, Silicon Imaging 2k or is it only can be done in the Red?

Thanks Stuart for your confirmation.
But I wonder if there is s problem with color space, as it seems that monitroing output of the RED camera are in REC709, but if you had used an other color space and gamma curve than the REC709 when creating the look in REDCINE, what kind of result would you have?
gdv, yes it means that.
The best set up for look management on set I've seen so far is provided by CineTal and SpeedGrade On set, as you don't have to "inject" the look, the camera is connected to the CineTal and the computer with SpeedGrade On set as well, and the look you are making in SpeedGrade change in realtime in the monitor applied to the image of the camera. Very good. For post, I am not sure exactly how it works if you are not using SpeedGrade DI.

You have to inject the look into the Cinetal, thats more or less the same to me.
And the RED rec709 applied is -from what I heard- already a look applied via Metadata. So this would just be altered. Its not a limitation AFAIK.

Can be done at SI already via adopted/licensed Speedgrade OnSet technique.
