I'm trying to figure out who's the target market for this camera, if pocket size means what I think it does.

Everyone.
Indie filmmakers will use it for serious work until they make it big and can get themselves a RED ONE. Build it up with rails and a mattebox. Put it in a "Fig Rig." Put it on a $120 tripod, instead of a $3,000 tripod. Strap two side by side for gritty, low-budget 3-D.
Established filmmakers will use it for scouting, previs, crash cam, and behind-the-scenes.
TV producers will hide it in confined spaces to catch embarrasing and regrettable acts for reality shows. Maybe some budget minded producers will use it to shoot presentation pilots they're on the fence about. It's also great for mounting inside a car. News crews can clearly benefit.
'Webisode' producers now have need for more serious production quality, but the budgets for that market are still small. They don't need to shoot 4k only to have that footage made in to 320x240 YouTube clips. But a clean signal will make for better compression.
Extreme sports people will use it as a helmet cam. Attach it to the tip of a ski and point it back at the skier. Toss it in a small housing then take it scuba diving.
Documentary filmmakers will use it in places big cameras are not appreciated or even tolerated. Or buy three and get better coverage than if you had a single DVCPRO cam. Also, regular folks who get antsy at the site of a big camera will feel far more at ease with our girl Scarlet.
People with disposable income will use it for home movies. Remember the guy who wanted to know if a RED ONE would be good to film his kids on vacation? Scarlet is probably a better option.
Students are going to get one as a high school graduation gift and go off to film school with a huge advantage.
And the corporate/wedding/event market is going to flip out.
