A lot of us have been speculating on what we want to see in scarlet and how we would want to use it in contrast to Red One. I think I may have found my answer...

In a nother thread, http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7431&page=4, Jim posted a link to Oakley's site to reference some historical videos they made for the company (shot on 35mm) that he now wishes he could have shot on Red One. Of course, at the time, Red One didn't exist.

On the same page, http://oakley.com/innovation/history, there is also a very nice sports video called schism. Although the editing is a bit dated from the "cut as fast as you possibly can" era of "I had to rent an avid to do this edit", a single cut from the spot really caught my attention: It shows a reverse angle of a wakeboarder from the boat being chased by a cameraman on a jet ski. And then it dawned on me... who would want to chase a wakeboarder on a jet ski lugging a Red One?

I'm hoping scarlet can be used for a bunch of really high quality action videos where Red One simply proves to be impractical due to size, location, or time for setup... and if it happens to turn out that the camera is waterproof, tough as nails, and turns on in an instant, I know one kayaker/skier/adventure guy who will be extremely happy to have a scarlet on hand.

Thanks, Jim. Keep it up!
