I've posted one job - offlining on Avid and onlining/grading on Mistika with successful results.

However, I'm searching for the quickest and most effective way of producing Quicktimes to import into the Avid. The fastest, best quality, most reasonable in size and speed of import I found was to output as a Motion JPEG A. Anyone found any better solutions?

Also, is it possible to create Quicktimes with timecode that an Avid will read when importing?

That's the Avid workflow forum. You'll like "MetaCheater", I think.

Thanks.

Useful, but still no sign of a quick way of moving footage from Red to Avid with t/c.

Probably your best bet is to use REDCINE to generate the Quicktimes, then generate an ALE that will generate Master Clips that you can then link the Quicktimes to.

There is no Avid product that reads the timecode tracks from Quicktime, so the only way to associate timecode is wth an ALE.

This is a pretty great solution though ! Until Avid is updated to read TC from QT, I think this is about as good as it's going to get.

Thanks for the tips.

One other thing - I am working on REDCINE which is great but have noticed that when making my Quicktimes for each shot the BITC for the source t/c is running at 24fps though the t/c in REDCINE is running at 25fps. This makes the BITC rather unreliable. Mysteriously the overall t/c runs at 25fps, it's just the clip BITC t/c that runs at 24fps. Is there a setting to set the source BITC to 25fps or is this a bug?
