Does anyone have info on which cable would be best to use for the external power cable to power Red. I have the 6-Pin Lemo connectors in and can make up cables for anyone interested but I would like to know if anyone has a preference of one cable over another. Please state manufacturer and gauge. Canare, Comprehensive, etc... What cable is Red using on the V-Mount battery plate? What cable will Anton bauer be using. I just want to go with the best and of course we can have the cable in the color of Red.

The Power Cables I am making currently and delivering, the locally available cable is a heavy duty 4 core made by AFLEX. it's also fairly flexible. RED is using ALPHA cable.
I only choose the best I can get for my cables as well. Most of my cable I have shipped in from the States.

It can be as simple as 14gauge lamp cord, or you can get way sexier! The main issue is AGW size!
If you find something sexy let us know!

I've always used Belden cable for electrical work.

The cable on RED's battery plate feels pretty generic, though I didn't look at the manufacturer. Fairly stiff.
Cooner Wire makes the best flexible cable I've ever seen, in any type of cable. I've replaced my zoom controller 11-conductor with their cable, and it's virtually invisible now on the steadicam. Since that, I've gone to their 2-conductors for all of my power cables as well, and they're amazingly flexible. I know they make the new genesis and f23 power cables for panavision, and I believe a lot of other camera houses as well. Definitely worth a look... the first wire that I've ever seen that makes me say "wow, that's sexy!"

Cooner Wire has supplied Panavision with cable for a long time. Made to our spec, light and very flexible, but not all that cheap either. But then again, when you want quality, you have to pay a bit more. The flexibility comes from the high number of strands in each core.
The Genesis cable is not made by Cooner, but another Manufacturer.
Cooner will also do custom runs for you as well, as long as you purchase the minimum Qty.

Has anybody had luck finding a dealer that will sell either by the foot or in small quantities?
I'm making my own Steadicam power cable for the Red..
