Here's a silly question:
Since the Red One camera and the software are a departure from both traditional film and HD cameras, will there be a user guide (hopefully not written by the fellow in Japan who writes for Sony and Panasonic)?
How about a quick in-person tutorial for those who can manage to get to Red headquarters? In the past, as an AC, anytime Arri or Panavision came out with a new camera, I'd make it a point to get to the rental house during a (mutual) slow period and go over the camera with a fine-toothed comb, asking questions, playing, fitting accessories.
Since Red represents, to some extent, a different way of doing things, I'm sure there are many reservation holders who would appreciate some time with a knowledgeable member of the manufacturing company.
Obviously, as the camera becomes more well known and widely used, and rental houses purchase them, there will be many venues for training, both basic and high-level techniques. But in the beginning, can we look to the folks at Red for some schooling?
Cheers,
Harry
