I know nothing about Mac Computers, and have always used Windows PCs. But, because of possible risks of losing shots because of Red Drive failures, I need to be able to utilize RedUndead which is only usable on Macs at the present time.

My question is this: Could I use an Apple Mac Mini Desktop - M9686LL/B (2005) for the RedUndead Software, just as a tool for recovering lost shots from any failed drives?

In other words, would that model and age of Mac Mini Desktop, be sufficient to use RedUndead Software on?

The reason I'm asking this, is because I do NOT want to invest the money into a "newer" Mac Computer that I will be using ONLY for that purpose and nothing else.

Thanks,

.

No. You need a Mac with an Intel processor - the old PowerPC chips (like the G4 that Mac has) are not supported by RED (or really anyone else these days).

You need the 2006 model at the very minimum, but I wouldn't think of getting one made earlier than the last 2007 model (the 2006 ones are only 32 bit and don't run the newest OS X, version 10.7 (Lion)).

Why?

Why?

Mainly because I don't have the money. Secondly, I'm a Windows-type person.

Would this one work? Apple Mac Mini Desktop - MB139B/A (August, 2007)

Thanks.
