How far are you guys travelling to attend "The gloriest week of all gloriest weeks ever stupendous x-files', ahem, I mean N.A.B. 2007 ?

I'm driving up from Smog-central but I know some of you are probably flying in from as far as the Moon.

Brook,

I still have one more space in my Centurion from Santa Monica - I won't take it personally if you wear your chute the whole flight.

I hear ya MarlonS. I'm lucky I can fly direct from Amsterdam. I flew with 1 lay-over a couple of times, ugh. Adds another 4 - 5 hours to the journey and more chance to get your luggage lost etc.

I'm only a 9.5 hour drive away (10 hours if I stop for lunch)... I'm probably not going to make it though.:(

Applied.. wonder if they have one of those new-fangled airports in your area ;)
Round trip on southwest is probably half of what you'd spend in gas.

Drivin' down from SLC, that annoying sound you'll hear on the strip is a PT Cruiser with studded snow tires! :D

Yep, in fact we have one of the biggest, nicest airports around. :) I was just saying I'm not too far to away to begin with. I do drive between Denver and Phoenix quite a bit, but that's also carrying wife and kids, so it's definitely cheaper to drive.

If I can get away for NAB, I'd fly just to save the time and it would be only me. Looks like Southwest and Frontier have round trip tickets at NAB time for less than $119. Tempting, but I don't think I can get away then. NAB should be in May this year so I can go. heh.

I wanna see pictures of that! A couple years ago, I saw a guy near Vail driving a Vette with chains on. WTF? Would that even work? I used to own an '84 Vette, never thought to chain it up... Not sure I'd want to try.

We took the Cruiser down to Vegas a couple of years ago in January (CES, I think). It was warm enough to keep the windows down as we headed down the strip, laughing as heads were turning to see what the heck was making such a racket ... sounds like metallic bubble-wrap being popped! I'm sure Clark County appreciated the free asphalt aerating. It's double-plus-good when you peel out... :D

So, you guys will be able to hear me coming all the way from Mesquite!

I'm flying in from London - though I'm in the SFO bay area the week before so I can just tack the LV section on the end of that trip . . . .

I may fly in from London specially if I can take the time off, and find a cheap flight at the time. I may fly to LA and rent a car and drive. Then all I have to do is find accomodation in Vegas at the last minute! It's what I did for IBC, but I did end up paying ridiculous money to stay in a broom cupboard!

Hi Nick,

You can book in here and then cancel 48 hours before if you find somewhere better or change your plans at the last minute:

http://www.orleanscasino.com/

It's about $75 per night for quite a large room. There are shuttle busses up to another hotel which is near to the NAB convention centre.

All the best, Phil

I will be driving up from San Diego, CA.

If anyone from LA or SoCal in general would like to carpool let me know. My schedule is very flexible.

It might be nice to have some company on that 5 hour drive...
