Hey Evin,
Any plans to hit the 28-70mm f/2.8D ED-IF AF-S Zoom-Nikkor?

I assume it to be nice and sharp.
I am wondering mostly how badly it breaths on focus pulls.

Breathing is not the big concern with this lens, it is a vari-focal design so focus shifts slightly when zooming, so it could only be used as vaiable prime.
That said it is fantastically sharp, pretty much in the relm of the 17-35.

Seems like a 50/1.4 and 85/1.4 might be nice choices instead.
I was thinking of getting the zoom and using it exactly as you suggest. I want to keep things simple with my mattebox step-down rings, basically switching between the 17-35 and the 28-70.

The front of the 28-70 moves in and out quite dramatically when zooming, you may want to attach the mattebox to the lens instead of the rails.

Copy that. Thanks for the tips! :weight_lift:
