Hey all, just wanted to let you know that yesterday we finally got an email from RED containing our FEDEX tracking numbers! Our first camera will be reaching customs on Monday and hopefully will be with us no later than next Friday.
The almost 2 year wait is finally coming to an end and the truly exciting times are just about to begin. A great time to be alive and a filmmaker!
I don't post much here so I might be a bit unknown to all but I really feel like I know personally a lot of the regulars here. I think I've read every post here religiously and I can't express enough how this site has helped us garner a comprehensive amount of knowledge regarding the RED camera and it's operation.
I want to take the opportunity to thank everybody for making this amazing community a reality. Especially Jarred and the RED team.
A special thanks also to all the beta testers for their commitment to help the community, specially people like Mark from Offhollywood, Gibby, Mike Curtis, Haakon, David Mullen, Finner, the RED ninjas and the moderators that have shared invaluable knowledge all over here.
I take the opportunity to announce that we will be launching RED RENTALS MEXICO pretty soon. It will be the only rental company in Mexico specialized entirely in the Red camera and it's workflow. Besides the cameras, our catalog will also include additional camera accessories and lenses (such as Cooke S4's and Arri Ultra and Master Primes) and a comprehensive list of professional grip and lighting equipment.
We will also offer a complete post workflow in our facilities including editing via FCP 2K stations, audio remixing and finishing and a full Scratch seat for conforming, color correction and finishing.
If anyone is interested in doing some tests with the new camera and workflow, be sure to contact me any time.
We will be sure to try and give back some to this great community. Expect a lot of footage, pictures and comments on the camera from us. Mexico will look amazing in 4k!
Finally, a huge thanks to Jim and the rest of the team for making RED a reality. And a special mention to Dan Duran for being the carrier of the good news and a great RED representative.
Red team, your commitment and dedication is truly changing the face of our industry. Keep it coming!
