Does our speculation or wishlist for this camera have anything to do with what will actually be shown at NAB. Is the red team reading these posts and saying "Oh that would be a nice feature" or is the camera features and funtions mostly in concrete.
Thanks

I doubt we'll know that until NAB.

actually they invented an internet-scouring robot that looks for good ideas and than automatically invents and produces a finished product without any direct human input. so at NAB they will be selling the final product.

It would be nice if they had 10,000 units at $2,499 ready to sell on the NAB floor.

I think they are using our speculation threads to design the camera we want.

When Jannard posted the "cat's out of the bag, it's called Scarlet" message, that was when they started with a blank slate to let us spec it out for them.

It's an awesome way to design a product and I am very excited about it.

Agreed.

I think they started right after NAB last year though... There's been speculation and some very lengthy discussions on the Pro Pocket Camera ever since they announced it last year. I'm expecting to see more than just a block of wood or aluminum whittled into a concept mock-up at NAB. I'm not saying functional prototype (that would be cool though), but I'm expecting to see something that shows it's been in development for 8 months to a year or more.

Agreed also. Which is a great thing. All it really means is that they want to build what WE want.

... aaand it's the reason I started the top 5 things you want from it thread.

Is this is what you are hoping not to see?

I am hoping to see something that looks like the new iPod nano connected to an modded iSight that can do 720p. That would be cool.

I am realistically expecting to see a small milled piece of aluminum with a red sticker on the back and a lens cap on the front, and that is it.
