Visual Products, a well-respected and long-time used cinema products store, has decided to join the bandwagon of the Red Revolution and offer the most serious competition to the Red One Camera yet.

Their "truly" revolutionary product, code-named '653', is touted as being the future in both production and postproduction workflows and will once and for all end the difficulties of working with 4K material. The device's inventor and promoter says "If the Red One skips 5 generations ahead, then ours goes all the way to 11."

I wouldn't read a lot of weight into what they claim.

Why are there so many hating on the RED! If you don't want it, don't buy it! :angry2:

Well, I don't think this is directed towards RED.
It's been there for ages! It's just a joke...

Umm... Yes... It is in fact a joke. I never thought people would take an anti-gravity machine seriously. Itīs just that I got inspired after reading all the hate-mail in a certain cinematography forum. I am 100% for Red and their achievement. The haterīs claims seem so ridiculous that I thought they are on a par with the anti-gravity machine. Oh, and that bit about "this one goes to 11" is from This is Spinal Tap... which is a mocumentary... which I thought would be a dead-giveaway for the first post being correctly identified as a mocapost.

Just killing time until NAB.
