Broadcast Monitor Setup Help

Hey everyone. I was looking to buy a broadcast monitor from Flanders Scientific, and they just released a new one so I thought I might as well get it.

This (http://www.shopfsi.com/FSI-10bit-17-Inch-Native-HD-Broadcast-Monitor-p/cm-170w.htm) is the one I was looking at.

I currently have a quad core mac pro, so I'm wondering if I need something like this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/746054-REG/Blackmagic_Design_BDLKHDEXTR3DPLUS_DeckLink_HD_Ext reme_3D.html) to take full advantage of the 2K monitoring.

I'm using FCP 7 now, but thinking of going CS6 when it comes out. Planning on using Color for grading.

I use that DL card and the previous Flanders 17" They work great for Resolve and FC7. Don't really work for CS 5.5 but that's all supposed to change with CS6. I really want to move up to a 24" monitor for grading. I initially bought the 17" as a field monitor and it's a bit small for Post work.

I also planned on using the monitor for field work, as well as post. I wasn't sure about the size for post, so now I'm even more unsure. Thanks for your input!

Anyone else have any input on using the 17" as a color grading monitor?
