It would be nice to have a hdr motion camera that can capture 3 motion images simultaneously. One at an average exposure and the others 2 stops +/-. If the red one can generate 3 quicktime proxies maybe RED can work this out and the possible software to merge those hdr motion images.

A while back when someone posted that breathtaking video of that technology called "using pictures to enhance video of a static scene", I started to think if it would be possible for some camera system to take a high res picture every few frames, which would also cycle through about 7 exposures maybe...so you'd get 7 pictures of roughly the same thing which were taken roughly within 2 seconds or less...too lazy to do the math but that sounds about right. Seeing how their "Spacetime fusion" algorithm magically made it flawless,I could see this being used in the future, and quite possibly adapted as multiple streams of video set at different exposures like you mentioned. It seems like the possibilities of image acquisition are going to be limitless as time progresses.

Just wait for RED SEVEN. It'll be like a fly's eye, having 1000 sensors each shooting low-noise 16K images through their own micro-lenses at 5000fps to Quantum Holographic Compact UltraFlash.
Afterwards you can select fps / shutter angle / HDR exposure / f-stop in RedCine.
You'd probably want several of them so you can record in volumetric 3D. They will actually be able to hover on set with little silent wings, like a swarm of gnats, capturing the scene from all angles. They have AI. You buy them in a red jar, and when you want to shoot you let them out and shout at them where to fly and when to start recording.
The only problem will be that when you try to render out, Apple QuickTime v58.5's LethalDRM might get confused and accidentally kill you.

Scarlet ...?? Is it like this??
"The MPEG-4 Video Player/Recorder allows you to record full motion video with sound at 30fps IN DVD QUALITY 640X480 RESOLUTION."
Totally what the scarlet will be, right? DVD quality? HUGE 640x480 resolution?. Haha, sorry to break your balls. I'd doubt its really THAT handheld, i kinda picture something like a GL2 or VX2000 sized, but maybe it will be handheld handheld and get sized to modern day flash camcorders (see samsungs HMX20C). That would be RAD to say the least.
P.S. Bruce I LOVE where your heads at!!!!

I heard about RED Jar- it's supposed to have an and upgrade set of lighting sources that fly around with the AI camera set- you just shake up the jar to charge them up and they fly around solving your mundane lighting problems using a direct bluetooth neural interface. I think they are called RED Lightning, or RED Bug- something like that...
