RED Toronto Meeting...

I understand that there was a meeting of Toronto RED owners yesterday to discuss setting rental rates and to establish a support network.

I was shooting and therefore, unable to attend.

Anyone care to share the "minutes"?

Was this official Red meet 4 or was it just a few people getting together? and was it posted on reduser somewhere? How did I miss it!

What was decided? I too would like to see the minutes.

This was not RED-MEET 04, that is yet to come.

RED-Meet 04 has been postponed because that meet was to be centered around the screening of some RED footage.
However the post work on that RED short has been delayed.

In view of this, and because many of us are now finalizing our RED packages, I have been trying to put together a meet that focuses on our kits.

While there are a number of group-buys posted on Reduser, I thought it would be really useful for those of us who are not intimately familiar with all the elements that go into the build of a cinema camera package, to have a chance to actually see and touch various elements that might be used in a RED ONE camera package.

I have contacted a couple of dealers and asked them to come up with accessory deals that they can offer our group in the way of discounted group buys. These offers will be presented at the next meet.

I propose that we convene RED-MEET 04 two weeks from now on Wednesday February 6th 6:00 pm.

It would be great if everyone could chime in on how this date and time works for them.

I will confirm the date in a couple of days here and in an email.

I think the agenda should focus on accessories.
Suggestions please.

Ian, if you make it February 7-th I will be in Toronto for two weeks staring noon on this date.
So far I was lucky with 3 other meetings!
Hey, how many times you can get red color in the row playing red and black in the roulette, I have seen 14 times myself once.
I am really interested in workflow and portable config for in the field portable solution.
Giby posted many good configs but when it comes to real laptop based portability for initial test grading and producing sample clips there is nothing reliable out there.

To be honest there was not much discussed. The organizers unfortunately became really busy and whatever itinerary they had planned melted away. We did get to see their facilities though (thanks boys).

I asked about rates and what they felt Red rental package should be. But since crewpix and others haven’t posted details I suspect people are busy or would rather not post info publicly.

So in the sprit of being careful PM me, email me or just call if you are still looking for info. (Invite open to all)
