So whats the Bobby (short for Bobby Moore, British Football Hero and lending itself to Cockney Rhyming slang for Score, meaning deal / news / update......lesson finished) with the Red Matte Box which made a very short appearance recently? Now hiding in the vaults at RED or ???
Was ever a price announced for that?
Cheers,
Mark.

It was a concept render that RED posted for feedback. Hopefully we'll see something at NAB?

It would have been so much funnier if you hadn't bothered to explain...

I wouldn't plan on it getting here anytime soon. Look to NAB for it along with Scarlet. And bring a credit card just in case. :)

i've been waiting for matte news with baited breath... has anyone taken a look at adapting the cinevate matte? at $500, i was thinking it might be a good low cost alternative while waiting for the RED matte to arrive.

$500 also gets you a RedRock mattebox as well.

Are they shipping yet? Haven't heard anything from them since we placed a reservation (temporary solution since Red's isn't out yet).

Last thing I heard from Brian Valente (from Redrock) they are shipping the first ones out in March. I need one too, but I am reluctant to buy anything since Red showed theirs. I wish Red would tell us something about possible dates and prices on their matte box. Red?

March ?!
Where did you hear that ? Last I heard, they were planning to deliver the first fifty Jan-Feb and get into production Feb-March, but I gues you have more recent news. So if the first are delivered in March, production won't start until April. That's far away...

I don't Adam and Eve it, I leave for five minutes 'round the Jack Horner to the Rub a Dub for a Sherbert or two, saves me from all the Rabbit and grief from the Trouble and Strife at least. Come back and have a Gander at the news to see peeps prefer I remain cryptic. Good job my computer is in the attic as the missus can't climb the Apples and Pears to find out what gives. She'd throw a Barney if she finds out what I'm about to buy, all that Claret, doesn't bear thinking about Guvnor!!
Good enough?

Mark.

Hi Mark,
reminds me of my (unfortunately) short time i spend at an English public school in Kent. Even (or especially) for a non-native speaker cockney rhymes are so unpredictable and... well, Apples and Pears are stairs?... English is such a vast field...
Thanks a lot,
Hans

Researching matte boxes at the moment . Is the Red matte box a definite or a maybe for NAB?
Mitch Gross
02-20-2009, 08:06 PM
Since RED will not show any product at NAB this year and almost a year ago announced a halt to their mattebox program, I would call it a "definitely not."
