You know you are at the top of your game when they close down the Palace of Versailles for your shoot. Inez and Vinoodh just keep on killing it.....

yeah, sucks - such a beautiful location, models and then edited like a 90s trance video - or maybe I'm just getting old:)

Beautifully shot!!!!! Was a bit dizzy afterwards though.. Not sure if it was her eyes or the amount of cuts ;-)

A typical fashion magazine is the same. Tonnes of random pages with sexy images. I will say that I thought I was watching an Anton Corbijn video. As it turns out there will be a film coming out on Anton himself:

This is really beautiful - what fashion video should be and what we aim for in our work in fashion and music video. Kudos to all.

I wish more of this was in color, because the color is amazeballs. I would LOVE to see a behind the scenes on this.

Honestly, (and this is not saying the cinematography is poor!) I've seen better edited video from fashion shoots with the Epic than what we see here. Its not that the photography isn't good, it is amazing and I'm sure there are some amazing frame grabs/pictures in the magazine that came from this, but it all just feels a bit, well, soul less. This is of course subjective, but to me the editing looks everything but high fashion. I say this merely as an audience member . I've never shot anything similar. A fellow reduser shot a brilliant and provocative model shoot/video (he's from britain and is a regular poster, unfortunately can't find the link!) and also the New York Times award winning shoots come to mind...
Its probably not the best place to be critical because this Video is proof that Red cameras are making their way to the top end of the fashion world. Lets hope that the video knowledge in that industry evolves with the new possibilities opened by the DSMC concept!

... agreed, ... i like the image quality - A LOT .... but first thought was ... "please, send in an Editor!" and it would probably become a piece of art in everyones eyes.
But then, shooting in Versailles on EPIC is KILLER and merits all honors ... ;) ... hehe!
Congrats
P.S: the editing clearly polarizes and obviously a ton of people get a kick out of it ... still it feels random.
to post a constructive comment, i would think a shorter cut, with a clear story telling, graphically progressive editing style ... would add leagues of class to this piece.

Absolutely beautiful pictures, especially when the colour is allowed to shine, but I've got to call the edit emperor's new clothes... Not for me at all, but then maybe I'm wrong and it works for the target audience?

I totally felt mixed about the edit as well
But after watching it a few times it just shows what a great work this is
It's a Fashion piece and represents Inez&Vinoodh/Dior beautifully,
and it's such a great time for Red, Fashion, and the arts
I really enjoy the beauty in this and it is all thanks to the hard work put into the Epic
I think it deserves to be enjoyed, and maybe we can be less judgemental about how we would all of edited it ; )
Just my feeling
Bravo and thank you to those who worked hard on making this so wonderful
The color in this is just brilliant
I love that Red footage can look so amazing and yet classy/vintage 35

Fantastic location. I REALLY just wish people would stop shooting slow motion with a 360 degree shutter. Unfortunately that is what the Epic defaults to at this point unless you change the shutter mode to "Relative".

Well, the direction was clear....."ummm..why dont you run from here to here and now run from there to there"
The plot summary? "Random Euro guy hides Twinkie on the grounds of Versailles and makes starving model look for it."
They lost me totally at the ECUs that feature crusty makeup around the nose and clumpy lashes.

I loved the color and detail, but much of that is the palace itself. The 80's music made it seem like a parody of MTV. I had to stop watching after the cliche "single tear falling" moment on the model. When doves cry...
