Is there a good lens tech in or around the Denver area? How is the service at FVESCO?

I need to get a Cooke 18-100 serviced and would like to do locally if possible, otherwise I'll pack it up and ship to ZGC or Abel Cine.

Jeff

Check out Paul Duclos in LA. ( www.ducloslenses.com )

He is great. I have had him do work on mine and Matt Uhry has him do all his lens work. He is fairly priced and very precise. He also does a lot of work with cookes.

Thanks, Finner.

Just FYI for anyone in this area reading -- FVESCO no longer services lenses. For cine lenses, they send most everything out to ZGC or Duclos.

Yep, Dave took care of me. Nice guy. I was familiar with LSI and Denver Pro Photo and the studio complex. I had no idea he was back there.

Thanks Awengert!, if you're ever in town I owe you a cold one or somethin'.

I am completely disappointed with Dave Pizio, Optics Unlimited. He has damaged a lens he was to service and clean. He was recommended by a friend; however I would not recommend this person. After he serviced my lens I had to fix the auto iris, and noted dust in the zoom elements (as told to me by the manufacturer). Another problem with cornering is now showing at 4.8 (100% zoomed out) also has occurred which was never a issue prior to Dave Pizio’s suggested service.

I have also noted Dave is incredibly rude in communications and his demeanor and is unconcerned at the state he has left the lens in (he told me to get out of his office, and left the building, and his since stopped returning calls and emails). Numerous voice mails and emails which have gone unreturned so I have to at this point send the lens to the manufacturer to be fixed properly – loosing my use, money for shipping, money to Dave Pizio, and money to fix the lens properly. There are several other techs, with better service and concern for the service they provide.
