PCI-Ex Lane

Getting a warning that reads: RedRocket #0 is in a 1x PCI-Ex Lane. The RedRocket requires an 8x lane to perform properly.

I'm using a red rocket that is installed into Maxx Digital Mobile rocket chassis rented from a friend. It's connect to my express card slot in my mac book pro. Why is this happening?

Express34 slots on macbook pros can only get pci e 1x speed, it's a hardware limitation.
