ARRI Dovetail Plate & Miller Arrow 55....

Just thought I'd ask, since I haven't seen one myself...

Does anyone make an ARRI doevetail plate that has an integrated drop-in QR plate / shoe to fit Miller Arrow heads? I might be interested in such a thing for my Arrow 55 if it isn't too expensive and it saves a bit of height (doubtful) over what I'm planning to do...

Anyway, my plan for now is the Element Technica 2060/2575 ARRI dovetail plate and then just screw the Miller QR shoe to the bottom of that. Then if I need a larger tripod, which would be a rental for now, I can use the 2060/2575 and will already have a dovetail plate to fit if I want to use it that way.

We can. And that's the way it's typically done.

I was just wondering if someone makes an ARRI dovetail that has an integrated plate for the Miller heads. Too bad the Miller Arrow tripods don't have a removable sliding platform like the O'Connor heads do. That is my only complaint about this tripod...

You don't want a machined plate part because then you could not adjust the position of the dovetail for balancing. You'd have the range of the head's topplate and the room of the bridge on the dovetail, but often you need the adjustment of changing the point of contact between the tripod QR plate and the dovetail to get balance correct. That's why there's three holes on the dovetail.
