Hey...
So my first Red One footage is of my kids goofing off last night after I assembled the camera. I can play it back fine on the camera, but when I put it into the Lexar Pro FW 800 reader that so many have recommended here, the iMac in the kitchen says it "cannot read the disk" (2 Ghz Intel 2 Core Duo)
Am I doing something wrong? A driver perhaps?
I'll try the Macbook Pro next.
Cheers,
Harry

No joy on the Macbook.
Then I put the card back in the camera and was told it was an unformatted card... ;(
So I formatted and shot more...
I'll try again.

OK, I used the card again.
I also used a different card. Different card works fine.
I guess bad CF card? No work 3X.
I'll continue along here and email the boys in CA on Monday.
Anyone else get a bum card? Just curious...
Cheers,
Harry

It could be a bad cable on the reader or possibly a bad reader?

Could be, but the "other" card I used worked fine in both camera and reader, both playback and download. And despite formatting with the camera twice, each time I remove it and reinsert it the camera says it's an "unformatted" card. And it's never recognized by either computer.
I bought a total of 5, so I'll try the other 3 today. But that first one really seems squirrelly...

So far when we've seen that kind of problem it's been due to a bad cable/reader or the computer doing something strange. In any case, if you think it most likely points to the card, please contact support to send that card back.

Will do. I shot on all the other cards today and they all seem to work fine...

Try formatting the card on your computer first (in disk utility) then format it again on the camera. Worked for us with a "squirrelly" card. Good luck

Thanks David. I'll try that before I go to the trouble of ringing them up to exchange it.

Harry
