I am a filmmaker looking into the possibility of shooting a feature on the Red One and I was wondering if anyone is holding a screenings, or knows of a screening of material shot on the camera, on a big screen in the London area?

I've seen the material streamed on the Red site and it looks very impressive, however I've seen many such tests of new formats which look great on a lap-top, or similar small screen, where the image falls apart completely when projected on the big screen. I don't mind what the material is as long as its shown at a sufficient size to gauge what sort of look the camera would present under these conditions. I'd particularly be interested in seeing a screening on a HD, or even 4k projector, or blown across to 35mm. Anything to see how the image holds up at that size.

Anybody who might be happy for me to sneak in the back of such a screening will certainly earn themselves a drink and, if you're a Red owner, might even get a hire out of it!

Thanks,

Peter Jackson's Crossing the Line held up well when shown on a 4K projector.

Cool! Don't suppose you have any idea where or when I might be able to see it?

Hi Guy,

We've recently shot a series of 4K test shoots in the "real world" which we are in the process of transferring to 35mm to project to interested parties. It should be screening in the next couple of weeks so get in touch via our website and get yourself added to the invite list (the same goes for any other interested RedUsers of course). We'll be making a proper announcement on the boards when we know the exact date and location (probably in Soho):
