Had a few hours today to run about the streets of Toronto and shoot some high speed footage. Found a bunch of transit workers doing repairs on a streetcar line and this was the result of that confrontation.

I am guessing you sat off a good safe distance with the zoom. Metal grindings, if they hit your lens will melt into the surface and ruin it.

It's always nice to have a cheap piece of glass when you're in a scenario like that. Having a UV filter in front is always necessary :)

Hah, well it was worth it for the sake of the shot right?

That was their thought. Mind you the camera op was not expecting the shower and copped a few stones on his cruit to go on with as well, hence the small camera shake. What I was a bit cross about was that I have a few pieces of fresh lexan and a piece of prison glass for such times. The car is Australia's icon muscle car from the seventies, the Holden Monaro GTX which came with a Chevy 350 in it. Its Ford opposite was the Falcon GTHO if my vague memory serves. Both were about as subtle to drive as a pitbull in a cat haven. The average punter was about as safe hooning one as he would be laying down in front of one moving forwards and had FUN. So there are not many good ones left.
