Sooo.... does anyone else remember reading something from some Red folks about new information being released this week? Or was I dreaming again?

This week was Red Submit.
Next week we should see some news I think

I know this has been discussed many times before, but does anyone want to speculate on pricing for accessories.

RED-EVF
RED-CAGE
RED-RAIL
RED-DRIVE

extra batteries
optical port option

I'm going to skip the RED-FLASH and go for the optical? port option for uncompressed to RED-RAID. I am also going to skip the Nikon mount and wait for my RED Zoom lens.

I'm guessing something in there could be a bonus for reservation holders. I might be inclined to hold off on the cage and get 2 or 3 drives.

Don't forget the $3.95 for a tube of K-Y jelly to ease the pain as you write checks to Angenieux,Cooke, Zeiss etc.

I think it would be a neat bonus if Jim could personally deliver each camera. Then we could take a ride in his jet. Then we could fly off to candy land and film chocolate waterfalls in 4K! Okay, okay... FedEx will do just fine.

Oh yeah, if that RED Flash checks in below 1K, that would be pretty swell.

Sadly, I think the EVF is gonna come in much higher than $1700.

Accuscene costs around $20k

How's the rust on that Dodge Dart?

Yeah and is it a slant six or a 340 Hi PO?

Considering Jim said that prices will be in line with RED pricing, then the EVF will be nowhere near that. Not even in the same state, or in the same city, or in the same ballpark in the same city. I'd bet someone's Alfalfa farm on it. My guess is as follows:

EVF $ 2500 .
RED rail $ 800.
RED cage $ 800.
RED flash $ 1000.
RED drive $ 1000.
Nikon mount $ 800.
RED batteries $ 500.
Kicking skeptics asses? priceless.

I suppose we'll know Monday if it's anywhere near that ? What do we win if we come closest ? A piggyback ride on Jared's 7' shoulders? A hooker coupon for NAB ?:whistling:

Somehow, I always thought Red Cage was coming with the camera as a package.

Nikon mount $ 800.

I still can't see the mount costing that much, not in Red talk anyway.

Not that it means anything, but here's my predictions...

RED:
EVF: $1600
RAIL: $500
CAGE: $500
FLASH: $750 Media????
DRIVE: $950 360GB $1050 400GB
NIKON Mount: $250
Batteries: $250

Now that I've typed those numbers and I look at them, they seem terribly low. But that's still what I have in my mind and I don't know why.

Hi,

Jim mentioned something about people who were realistic about pricing would not be dissapointed!

I guess the Nikon mount & EVF will cost more, could be wrong, we will know on Monday!

Yep, I guess we find out monday.. :)

I'm not sure what to think about the prices I listed... Realistically, I could see the selling prices for these units all could be double what I posted. Except for RED DRIVE, that's supposed to be $1K for 320GB. I would be surprised if the Nikon mount is more than $500, in fact, I would be surprised if it were $500. Guessing EVF price is a crapshoot... I could see it being as low as $1200, but it could be $3500. I really don't think it will be anything rediculous like Sony's $9K or Panasonic's $8K. But I've also been known to be wrong on several occasions...

EVF: Nope. I'm not going to put what I REALLY think it's going to cost, 'cause I'm really hoping it to be a LOT less!
Rail: $689 (but please make it like $295 or something!)
Cage: $1,249 (but please make it like $495 or something!)
Drive: $999.99
Flash: $1,999.99
Nikon F-mount: I won't put what I really think, because I like rgd's number instead--a LOT!
Nuclear Emitter Engine Attachment: $41,470,671.82
Lolypop: FREE WITH EVERY RED ONE PURCHASE!
Stuffed Rabbit: $15
Stuffed Rabbit Jim Jannard Signature Edition: $200
1976 Dodge Dart: $1400

i think you are all aiming to low. I would probably double the prices you guys are suggesting. But that might be so i'm not disappointed when the price list is released.

EVF $ 1
RED rail $ 1
RED cage $ 1
RED flash $ 1
Nikon mount $1
RED batteries $ 1

Bringing the total neatly to 17506 for the complete package.

Of course a set of 6 lenses will also add $6 to the total so account for that.
