I am putting together a Scarlet package and am located slightly outside of NYC, would love to cosign it away to a rental house as a way to keep it busy. I am currently a DIT/Editor and I am only free to use it two or three days a week since I am on a set using a different Red/Avid. So this is my solution to basically keep it rolling while I am too busy to utilize it, other then the occasional weekend gig. It has only 40 hours of run time on it and is still under Red warranty. Please let me know if any rental house is interested in adding it to their inventory? Thanks for your time

You will have much better luck contacting the houses directly, its a pretty standard deal with almost of all of them. There are a lot of Scarlet owners in NY and rental houses are pretty busy, I wouldn't expect abel to be calling you after reading this post.
Good luck

Thanks for the input. I emailed a bunch of them already, but I figured it couldn't hurt to post it here as well, I have only heard back from one of them so far. Plus just to hear more about the process from users such as yourself is interesting as well. This is my first time doing something like this so learning more is always helpful and appreciated. Thanks

A scarlet is more of a owners operator's camera, where the EPIC is more of a owner/rental house camera. Your have much better luck renting out your camera personally, then through a rental house.

I am interested in doing that too (though I would need to look into insurance unless I accompany the rentals) , in addition to providing my own services along with the camera when gigs pop up. I am just basically trying to figure out a way to monetize it while already being fairly booked currently with gigs not actually needing usage of it. If if it sits on a shelf so be it, but I'd like to keep it busy, even if I am too busy right now to use it much. I am not opposed to getting an Epic Brain as well if that helps me get a cosign, but I'd have to wait on that for now budget wise.
