Been busy..so I haven't contributed material to redmodz in awhile. Here goes first of more to come. I never like how the cradle gets in the way of the back of the camera. With the cheese plate, I am able to do different cool studio configurations.
Check out this setup..centered around Red's 15mm Arri Baseplate.

WHAT a HUGE EVF!!!!
Is it heavy? Handy? Is there a way of rotating up and down the evf while shooting or in a fast way like for other camcorders?

When did you receive your EVF?

It's Blair's aka #19 hero's EVF.
Tresch,
It looks bigger in the pics.. its not that big to me and the weight is what I would expect. In terms of moving the evf up and down while shooting, you will have to untighten the noga and retighten. So the answer is no if you expect to just move up and down without having to loosen and retighten the knob. I haven't used ETs EVF mount yet..but it might be possible with ETs EVF mount.
Babu,
I will email you.

you're using 1 top mount ... so your whole set up is held by 2 bolts ( top mount bolts into Red body ears ) when you pick it up by the handle ...
when i look at the tghe 2 holes in top mount (2 bolts into red ears) i just don't know about about the metal where it is really thin holding all the weight ?? i assume it doesn't make you a little nervous ?

The EVF is big and heavy, but that photo was shot using a wide angle lens which makes it look even bigger than it really is. This shot (http://www.red.com/skin/img/accessories/red_rails_system_hero.jpg) is using a longer lens and probably gives you a better feel for the size relationship between the camera and EVF.

The ET cheese plate looks sweet.

The whole thing looks sweet. The EVF does look a little overpowering. Was it worth the wait?

ET's EVF mount system works great and gives you the kind of working view finder that profesionals are use to. It is solid and fast to adjust.

Hey, what's up with the drive on the side? I emailed the boys at ET looking to make a special cradle to use with my ULCS system... see attached.
But it looks like a solution already exists.
Top photo of that setup by any chance?
Cheers,
Harry

The drive on the side that Tony's using is just the RED drive cradle minus the battery v-mount plate.

Am I seeing that the new ET 1030 plate uses a lever instead of a button release sytem?

Do you know the price of the ET EVF bracket??

Yep. It's really a fantastic piece... they did everything right. And it's kind of fun that the inspiration for development of that piece came completely from these forums.

I am also interested in the price and to know when the Element Technica accessories will be available to the market...or are they already?

I've got the 2060 plate of theirs but it uses a button-release system.
Do you know if they've updated the 2060/2575 plates to a lever release now?

Yeah, it sounds like they'll be using the levers from this point forward on all of their plates.

Ah, time for an exchange then!
Yea, after seeing the Arri version with the real nice lever-release, I was wondering why ET didn't follow.

When rigged up phat like the picture, I use the handle in addition with holding the bottom of the camera when carrying the RED around. When running light, I think the handle works fine because it is receiving additional support from the cheeseplate which is screwed in by two top mounts. It might be hard to tell from the angle of the pics.
The handheld config Brook made has a double handle attached but is also just held down by two bolts as well.

With all that said, however, I am looking into a handle solution that gives more top clearance..and I have seen some protos that are very interesting.
