So I guess they're fairly serious about professional (http://www.assimilateinc.com/pdfs/08022008_SCRATCH_SCARLET.pdf)...

If Scarlet uses Redcode, then Scratch already supports it? Scratch already supports 2K...
Hmmmm...
Maybe its just a slow news day at Assimilate.

I wonder if the Scarlets would ship faster and the waiting pain would be less...

sorry to start a new thread on this, BUT...I do think its news since we
now have confirmation that Scarlet will be at least a format that needs redcode processing so 2k is a good bet, but I still think 1080p full raster is the goal, far enough away as to not hurt R1 sales but just as ground breaking in terms of price/performance ratio.

Now if Scarlet could have a DVCpro HD type codec that did not need processing that would really be a game changer and leave the Red team
to not have to worry so much about this segment of there customer base
getting this in firmware for RED One.

I still think 4K.

Scratch running on a octo Mac would be the killer

When you convince Cupertino to support NVidia's SDI daughtercard, let me know... : )

(and PBOs... and...)

So Scarlett uses Redcode. Makes sense. Is anyone reading anything more into it than that?
