Making a webpage

Really trying to figure out how to make a website with my trailers on it. But i want to be able to Click on the quicktime 480p,720p,1080p icon and it opens Quicktime just like www.apple.com/trailers work. I belive it has to do with java script. I make flash webpages and really good at having flash videos play and stuff. Not so good with quicktime. I know how to embade quicktime into a webpage but dont know how to make it so when they click on the quicktime button it opens quicktime and starts to download the video.

Let me know if you can walk me threw the entire process.
