People have noted issues with the battery coming loose to easily. According to RED you need to break in the battery mount by removing and mounting the battery 30-40 times or so. I've used a V-Mount camera for the past couple years and never had a problem so I believe in the V-mount itself...

Had the same problem at the beginning. The battery was so loose that it lost contact as soon as I touched it. RED told me what joelnet said, to mount and unmount it 20-30 times. I did that and it really worked. No problems since then.

I had to use clothes pegs to hold the batteries to the mount. I'll post a picture later today, boo..........

When you mount the battery, you need to hear it click TWICE before it is secure.

Twice? My cradle battery mount only clicks once and it is completely secure. Same with the quickplate and the belt clip.

Thanks for the tips, but My battery mount is definitely messed up, I can see the 2 conditions in the center of the cradle are pushed out of place! I borrowed another one from a friend and there is no problem with his. I will call RED tomorrow to get a new one!

Thanks, Mark

Hi,

I'm reving this old thread as my camera is starting to have the same problem. It didn't happen initially, it's starting to happen now, on the fourth shoot. So, contrary to what has been said above, in my case, as we are "breaking in" the battery mount the problem is starting to appear. Luckily I also have a belt clip, and there is no problem when the battery is attached to that.

I have sent an e-mail on red.com

Cheers,
Damien
