Anyone have experience with the EZ Junior Jib?
I have a 15' jib now, and I'm looking at picking up a smaller heavier duty jib for interior work in confined spaces.
Both the Seven Jib and the EZFX Jib are in my budget, but the EZ Junior looks like it would be a better fit.
Any users?

I have the regular EZFX jib...the jr looks to be the same quality. It's been a great piece of gear.

I know the guys who make it - couldn't be nicer. I'm probably going to get one for my kit.

I have the regular as well as the junior. I'm very happy with them.

Hi Big lebowski,
How would you rate pan and tilt of these jibs in terms of smoothnes. Any Jerkiness at all.

I have a regular EZ-JIB and as far as the pan and tilt, it is silky smooth. The only problem I have is, if I have to stop my move when going too fast--it will have a little "bounce." It's not noticeable on the wide end of the lens, but at the long it if you look closely you can see it (but I think a little more practice on my end would probably help also!)
One reason I bought this jib was that it would support 50 LBS and someone had already used a RED on it.

Thanks Matthew. That is really good feedback.

Joon, I made the same observations as Matthew. Silky smooth movements but not easy to come to a fast stop. I suppose you cannot have both...

I've just used a regular EZFX jib on a music video shoot, we attached it to a platform dolly, looked awesome.
I'm looking into buying one for myself, I was dead impressed with it.

Why not check if there is a group buy available.

A group buy would be nice indeed.

I have them for rental in the NY area if anyone wants to come and demo one in my shop to see if it was you want. I have not had any problems and when you need a part or something, EZ-FX is very helpful. I carry the standard size as well as the extension kit

I also have the EZFX standard and 6 FT extension and their new dolly. We love it and they are always very helpful when you need help mounting a new head. Great gear from great guys and at a great price.

I have the Seven Jib and couldn't be happier with it. It packs up nice and small and can be deployed in about 5 minutes.

has anybody used that Varizoom remote head with it?

Yes. I have that one. It's a perfect match with the EZFX.
Haven't tested it yet with my RED. Could be a close call concerning weight.

20lbs I believe (don't hook up a cooke varotal) - what interests me is the start/stops on the head - when you release the joystick does it just STOP! or can you feather the action for a nice finish?
Thanks

It's not like a real pro head. But with a little bit of practice you can achieve great results, also with starting and stopping a movement. Stopping the EZFX is a much more demanding task than stopping the head.

If you are using the EZFX Junior Jib with a RED, plan accordingly counterweight wise... My experience was a total disaster, for I didn't plan for the magazines and battery on the RED, not to mention the rails, It was WAY to heavy, and I didn't have enough counter-weights. We even tried to use sandbags, there wasn't even enough room on the bar to support the weight. I LOVE the Junior Jib, I use it with the HVX200 All the time, I just wasn't expecting the RED to be as heavy as it was.
