Just received my camera but am having trouble removing the body cap from the PL mount. Have zero experience with PL mounts and do not want to damage it by forcing something. I can see a silver pin that might be locking the cap in place does this somehow need be moved up or recessed? Call me stupid but that pin isnt going any where and neither is the cap at the moment...
thanks.

I have driven a moped so there is no real reason why I can't fly a F-16.
There are a lot of people about to face a world of pain.

Too bad... You could help me write the "RED for Dummies" book. We'd make a killing selling that I think.
FWIW, this was redlobster's first and only post and he registered right before asking the body cap question. He's either trolling or he's another established user who wanted to save face and not ask the question from their regular account. ...Just my theories.

That is perfect. This footage should be sent out with every camera. You couldn't imagine how many times this stuff comes up. Sheesh

Jas, follow these instructions:
Take your left hand and make an L shape with your Index Finger and Thumb.
Do the same with your right hand.
Position your hands so the tips of your thumbs are touching.
Now look through this 'frame' with your left eye closed.
I understand many Directors can see things others don't by using this technique.

When I do that, I get a 1.30 Aspect Ratio how can I acheive 2.40 with this method?
Is this the "Magic" they talk about in movie magic?

It'd be nice if someone makes or starts a library of redwiki type of video tutorials on common issues regarding hardware, REDCine, RED Alert, workflows, etc.

As long as it helps you is the important part. You do now have a good grasp on how to get off the port cap right?
