I counter balanced my tripod and held it by the handle to get the smooth shots around my back yard. I didn't want it to be too smooth so I shook things up a bit just to give the video an 'aware effect', like if you are inside someones head seeing what that person sees. There is a part where you see a shadow of me holding my craptaculous JVC GR-D320+tripod, oh and I misspelled something too :)(I wish I had a Sony EX1 right about now)

Wow, that's a great shot.
This is as good as amateur steadicam shot, with the help of SHAKE.
I think I can avoid steadicam for my personal projects.
Well done

Thanks. Why do you avoid steadicam's?

Not bad at all! What did you use to counterbalance the tripod?

I think the weight of the bottom of the tripod is the counterbalance!!

lol....come on. it looks pretty good. especially since he mentioned that he purposely added some shaking. probably difficult/impossible to do with a Red due to the weight.

Good result.
If nothing else is around, yeah, it helps things a little.
And then of course you have DeShaker ;).

Yeah, that works too :) . I wonder if anyone has tried to digitally stabilize some shoulder mounted 4k red footage, it should work great since there are so many pixels(not with deshaker though lol) As long as you shoot with a high shutter speed. I haven seen anything like this.

This DeShaker thingy saved my life one time. Or more like - my bank account. :) It's capable of really good results, but I don't know what's the top rez possible.
We should write 10 000 emails to the guy that has written it. Maybe he'll work something out :).
I'd also suggest a DeSkewer app for a cloverfield-like RED footage. :whistling:
All for free, of course.
