So... Accessories are out and everyone is rarin' to go. How will YOU configure your RED, now that all is clear, bright and sun-shiny!??

Basic production Pack
Power Pack
EVF
LCD
2x Red Drives
Red Flash (CF)
Nikon Mount

Eventually I may get the Express card flash as well, depending on capacity/cost.

Did you notice the premium production pack mentions 15mm rail adapter? Can 15mm Follow Focus and Matte Box be used with the basic production pack or do we need that adapter?

We may need to buy that seperately.

Can users please specify why they prefer certain options over others. Just curious to see why this and not that

Basic production Pack (cause I don't need the Cage)
Power Pack (Becasue I want to turn it on)
EVF (For all outdoor and handheld shooting)
LCD (For interiors and AC/focusing usage
2x Red Drives (Best bang for buck +Back up)
Red Flash (CF) (Smallest and most widely available flash option for Hi vibrations)
Nikon Mount (Because I have a lot of Nikon glass)

One would think they would be either on 60mm or 100mm centers as those are the standards for lighter weight matteboxes and follow focus equipment.

I don't think I need the cage either, but can someone explain why I might?

Hi Evin,
forgive my ignorance but how does the Red Flash (cf) work?

Right now, my current configuration looks to be:

Red One - The camera looks like it will go well with the accessories.
Basic Production Pack - Don't need the cage yet (this may change).
Power Pack - While I'd like to save money by getting just one battery, two will be necessary.
LCD Screen - Cheaper option, necessary for Steadicam type work, and I can get by for now with a hood.
Red Drive - Something to store lots of 1's and 0's.
Red Flash (CF) Module - Lightweight, small, great for chase scenes.
Nikkor Mount - Evin essentially forced me to buy Nikkor lenses by posting his glorious reviews.

Total after allowance and deposit is $20,500 I have to come up with. It's really too bad I couldn't get the camera before they require payment. Then I could film my bank heist.

Is the Base Plate a quick release plate for fast on/off a tripod or Steadicam? Can a second one be bought separately?
